
Short CV : Tapan Kanti Barua born on 6th November 1948 in the village: Kadalpur, P.O. Kadalpur, P.S. Raozan, Dist. Chittagong, Bangladesh, obtained M.A. in Economics from the University of Chittagong, Bangladesh. I was a Professor in Hoarapara Agrasara Degree College, served near about 8 (Eight Years) and later on joined in a N.G.O where from I took voluntary retirement in the year 1994 and have been working with Buddhist Brotherhood Assembly as its General secretary which is a non-profit Buddhist religious and humanitarian organization working for the upliftment of Buddhists virtue of tolerance and compassion. I use to write articles related to Buddhist religion and Interreligious aspects in a local paper and periodicals occasionally, articipate in various philanthropic projects by extending support to impoverished communities, propagating values of non-violence and humanism. I have been involved in social work, always seeking to help the disadvantaged and has worked for several non-profit organizations that offered services and support to the community such as the Buddhist Welfare Association, Rural Multipurpose Development Centre, Kadalpur Bhikkhu Training & Meditation Centre, Bangalhalia Nanda Bansha International Vipassana Meditation Center, all based in Chittagong. Visited different countries such as India, Nepal, Srilanka, Bhutan, Thailand, Malaysia, Myanmar,U,S,A, UK, Germany, Belgium, Luxemburg, Netherlands, Italy, France, Switzerland etc attended meeting, conference, workshop, seminar conducted by different organization both at home and abroad time to time. Besides upholding the Buddhist religion I have been working together with other faith believers towards respect for each other’s faith believe to work together for establishing peace elsewhere in the world
